The Department of Transportation is reporting a lane closure on Interstate 84 in Bethel that could cause traffic and delays. Road work is being done on I-84 Eastbound between Exits 7 and 9. The road work is approximately 4 miles and it continues through 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The left lane is closed.
Bethel commuters are also reporting a tree down on the Merritt Parkway causing standstill traffic. One driver reported at 10:30 a.m. that he hasn’t moved in 30 minutes, heading south just before Greenwich. ”The stand still is pushing an hour now, 2.5 miles from exit 31 backs up well beyond exit 33,” Bethel resident Scott Lewis said. One driver even got out of his car and began playing guitar.
