Bethel Upgrading Its Water

Two public works projects are slated to improve water quality and pressure in the town.

BETHEL, CT — Water pressure should start improving soon for residents served by the Briar Cliff pump station, The News Times has reported. The $863,000 project to upgrade that station, as well as extend the water main on that road to Long Meadow and Crestview lanes, is 75 percent.

In a related project, the town has set the end of the month as the deadline for bids from contractors to replace several aging water mains feeding Second Lane, Melillo Avenue, Whitlock Avenue, Tremont Avenue, Pleasant Rise and Farnham Hill. That work is estimated to cost almost $978,000.
