Bethel Voters Approve $31.6 Million Town Budget

Voters rejected the first municipal spending plan in a referendum last month

BETHEL, CT — Voters approved the 2019-20 Bethel town budget on its second go-round in a referendum held on Tuesday.

The proposed municipal spend had been trimmed by $385,000 to a new bottom line of $31,576,043 following its initial rejection by voters last month. In that referendum, a $46.4 million school budget and $1 million in capital expenses were voted in by residents

The total spend will bring a tax increase of 1.65 percent.
