Bethel voters have approved borrowing $998,000 from the state to replace water mains.
BETHEL, CT — Voters have approved borrowing $998,000 from the state to replace water mains on Mansfield Street, Pleasant Street, Grassy Plain Terrance, Highview Terrance and Oakland Heights, the News-Times is reporting.
The ballots were cast by a small number of residents at a special town meeting Tuesday night.
The funds will come from a state Department of Health loan paid back through the water rates. The town plans to offset the cost by applying for $247,500 grant from the state health department.
