Initially, contractors will be focusing on replacing units that are mounted on the exterior of structures. The work involves removing the old MIU, connecting the new MIU to the existing wires and re-mounting the new MIU. No interruption of water service will be involved and no appointments will be required for replacing outside units, according to the Water Department.
Inside units will require appointments and the work will be completed in about 15 minutes and there will not be an interruption of service. If a resident's water bill indicates an "E" as the read code, the Water Company is requesting they call the office to set up an appointment.
