Bethel Woman Wins Gold Medal in Austrian Karate Tourney

The Bethel High School graduate holds a black belt in Taekwondo and Goju Ryu.

BETHEL, CT — A Bethel woman brought home the gold in an international karate competition this past weekend.

Gabrielle Dunn, 20, was awarded the gold medal in Traditional Kata by the North American Sport Karate Association at a tournament Sunday, Oct. 20. She competed all weekend in Austria with fellow members of Team USA.

Dunn, a graduate of Bethel High School who holds a black belt in Taekwondo and Goju Ryu, works at her parents' Karate School, Connecticut Martial Arts, in Danbury.
