BETHEL, CT — The selectmen have announced they will fill the vacancy on the Youth Commission with a Republican woman, the News Times is reporting.

Marie Muthersbaugh will take over for J.P. Sheehan, who resigned in October following the revelation he had a previous affiliation with an "alt-right" group.

In a 2016 feature in Vibe magazine, Sheehan was interviewed, along with such prominent members of the "alt-right" movement as Richard Spencer, during a National Policy Institute conference.
