Bethel's Gilleoghan Irish Dance Join 19 Groups for Cultural Extravaganza
Bethel's Gilleoghan Irish Dance will perform in a gathering of 20 cultural groups to be presented on the City Center green in Danbury.

Danbury’s Mayor Mark Boughton is declaring “Diversity Week” in the City of Danbury on June 20 at the World of Colors concert, the largest gathering of culturally diverse music and dance performers ever to be presented on the City Center green on Ives Street in Danbury.
The event is being hosted by Main Street’s new World Heritage Cultural Center (WHCC). The free production is a multi-ethnic, multi-arts international celebration. Over 20 countries will be represented on the stage, including Gilleoghan Irish Dance of Bethel. The event runs from10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The event will feature culturally diverse arts and crafts and food from Kas’s Bar & Restaurant, Meat the Press, Lemon Grass Restaurant and more.
Fox TV reporter Kelly Wright will emcee the event, along with radio personality Cindy Vero, actor/filmmakers Shetal Shah and Victor Cruz.

Mayor Boughton said of the event, “Having so many vibrant and diverse cultures in the City of Danbury is a source of great pride for our community. By sharing our language, food, faith and arts, we are providing others with a sense of who we are. By declaring ‘Diversity Week’ in the City of Danbury on June 20 at the World of Colors Concert, we hope to bring further awareness to cultural diversity, and that members of every cultural group will learn from this celebration.”
The roster of World of Colors entertainments includes: 3 Times A Slave, Aliana Dancing Dolls, Emily Angell, Asian Performing Arts, Barynya, The Bollywood Factory, Laurentina Bova and Paolo Pasta Lanna, Cambodian Cultural Dance, Eve, Gilleoghan Irish Dance School, Elizabeth Hanney and Mike Goldberg, Jasmine Performing Arts, Suresh Ketwaroe, The Lao Association of CT, Major Daps, MetaMovements, Anindita Nanda, Naturally Recklez, The Philippine-American Association of Connecticut, Rasa Vitalia, Sankofa Kuumba,and Villa Palagonia.
