Bethel's Zoning Board of Appeals Approves New Pump Station

The construction of a new pump station on Governors Lane near downtown Bethel has been approved.

Justin Hurgin, a member of Bethel’s Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals, announced Tuesday evening that Bethel’s Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance application from the town’s Public Utilities Department to allow construction of a new pump station on Governors Lane.

The new pump station will be built at 2U Governors Lane.

The new station will include a new free standing back-up generator, electrical upgrades, an aesthetically pleasing structure, improved booster pump, sound attenuation and screening trees.

“This is all part of Bethel’s water system overhaul that will take place in the coming years,” Hurgin stated.
