Brazilian Singer Vanessa Falabella to Perform in Bethel

From Pizzeria Lauretano: Brazilian Music Soul, an acoustic trio featuring Brazilian Singer of the Year Vanessa Fallabella, comes to Bethel in a very rare performance this Sunday, December 11 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. The three packed the venue in 2015 with a breathtaking performance.

From the state of Minas Gerais, Ms. Falabella was named this year's Best Brazilian Singer living in the US by the Brazilian Press Awards. A trained Mezzo-soprano, she is an accomplished songwriter and composer with four albums to her name.

Sao Paolo singer Carlos Dias adds his rich voice to hers for spellbinding and soulful harmonies, along with guitar and spine-tingling berimbau. Mr. Dias has performed across Brazil, Australia and Europe, and now lives in New York as does Ms Falabella. He has performed in Broadway musicals, Brazilian TV, and has his own show "Tribute to Fank Sinatra" performed in the city.

Connecticut's own Arthur Lipner , one of the world's leading performers on the vibraphones, rounds out the group. The acclaimed documentary film on his world travels "Talking Sticks" just showed at the Bethel Cinema.

Brazilian Music Soul perform the music of Northeast Brazil in an exciting mix of bossa nova, samba, and original music, plus new arrangements of Sérgio Mendes, Elis Regina, Jorge BenJor, Cassiano, Dom Salvador, Wilson Simonal, Roberto & Erasmo Carlos, Seu Jorge, and Tim Maia. They have performed at top New York clubs including Iridium, Sounds of Brazil, and BB King's. This will be a very special night!
