An announcement was just made by Bethel Public Schools that ONLY Bethel Middle School, Berry School, Johnson School and Rockwell School, NOT the Bethel High School, will be dismissing early today (on an early dismissal schedule). This is due to a large electrical outage problem in the schools that apparently was caused by a 1-car automobile accident on Plumtrees Road, said Bethel Police.
Some generators are being used and there is light in cafeterias so lunch is being served, the announcement indicated.
Activities are being canceled, but check with your schools.
The "Curriculum Night" at Bethel Middle School, scheduled for tonight, is canceled.
The message also indicated that it would take at least three hours to get power back.
