Step right up to celebrate the 208th birthday of Bethel’s most famous citizen. On Thursday, July 5th at 6:30 PM the Bethel Historical Society is hosting P.T. Barnum's 208th birthday party. The celebration will be held on the library's front lawn, 189 Greenwood Ave., Bethel.
The annual celebration takes place in front of the P.T. Barnum statue created by Bethel artist David Gesualdi. It includes a make/wear-your-own crazy hat contest. Bring an instrument to join in a rousing Happy Birthday march up and down Greenwood Avenue. Chocolate medallions from Noteworthy Chocolate will be awarded for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place for the best crazy hats. The Bethel Historical Society describes this event as "a crazy-beautiful-awesome-spectacular hat day."
Hope you will join us for birthday cake, lemonade and a craft.
