BETHEL, CT — Schools Superintendent Christine Carver notified families on Thursday that an attendee at a national conference which several Bethel High School students and staff attended, tested positive for the new coronavirus.

Public schools will be closed Friday "in an abundance of caution" in order that officials "can thoroughly assess the situation," according to Carver, in a letter distributed Thursday.
