Coronavirus CT: Here Are The Town-By-Town Case Numbers

CONNECTICUT — The coronavirus positivity remains under 2 percent in Connecticut, as clinics gear up to begin vaccination of the newest, youngest age tier, residents 12-15 years old.

The number of COVID-19 cases is similar across the 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50-59 age groups, and lower among persons 80 and older. However, the rate of cases per 100,000 population is approximately 60 percent higher among persons aged 80 and older compared to younger age groups.

The coronavirus death toll in Hartford County remains the highest of the pandemic, at 2,404 fatalities. There are currently 76 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Hartford. The number of coronavirus hospital admissions across the state has been dropping steadily; as of Monday, it stands at 280 beds. The death toll statewide has climbed slowly over the past 30 days by 197, to 8,154.

Connecticut is third in the nation, behind neighbors Vermont and Massachusetts, in total doses of coronavirus administered per 100,000 residents, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data released Tuesday. Importantly, nearly 80 percent of residents age 65 and older have been completely vaccinated.

Nationwide, 71.6 percent of the population 65 and above have been fully vaccinated, according to the CDC.
