Learn To Curl

Fairfield County’s NUTMEG CURLING CLUB is offering its annual “Learn to Curl” sessions on Thursday 12/29 and Friday 12/30, at 7:00 and 8:30 PM. It’s a great chance for everyone to try their hand at this friendly and fascinating game.  The cost is $30 per person.

Located just off Route 8 next to Bridgeport’s Wonderland of Ice, the club has over 190 members, many of whom tried curling for the first time at past “Learn to Curl” sessions.  Everyone interested is encouraged to sign up at www.nutmegcurling.com and take advantage of this opportunity to have fun, meet people, and discover what makes this classic game so unique and popular. Trained instructors will be on hand to answer questions, explain the game and give all participants a chance to get out onto the ice and “throw” a stone. The club will provide all necessary equipment at the Learn to Curl; participants should plan to wear rubber soled shoes like sneakers and loose, warm clothing.Children over 15 are welcome along with parents; the club sponsors a regular “junior curling” league for young people and it’s a terrific way for them to stay active in the winter in an environment that fosters team play and good sportsmanship.
