Fifth Annual Pancreatic Research Walk to be Held Sept. 27
The event takes place at Bethel High School and all proceeds benefit pancreatic cancer research.

The fifth annual Pancreatic Research Walk to benefit the Lustgarten Foundation will take place on Sept. 27 at Bethel High School, according to the News Times.
The 2.5-mile walk is being held to raise awareness and funds for on the disease, the nation’s fourth leading cause of cancer deaths.
According to the Lustgarten Foundation, pancreatic cancer has no early detection tests, no effective long-term treatments and no cure, unless the cancer is removed in its earliest stages. The survival rate is only seven percent over five years.

The event organizers are Julie Dunn, Ellen Klaus and Karen Rowe.
Event registration begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27. The the walk begins at 10 a.m. The pre-registration fee is $50, and the walk-in registration fee is $60.
