First Selectman Announces Vacancy on Ethics Commission

The Town of Bethel is seeking a volunteer to serve on the town's Ethics Commission, following the recent resignation of a current member.

The Town of Bethel is seeking a volunteer to serve on the town’s Ethics Commission, following the recent resignation of a current member of the panel. The person selected will serve the remainder of the outgoing commission member’s term, which expires on January 2nd, 2017.

To be considered for appointment to the Ethics Commission, candidates cannot currently hold or be involved in campaigning for public office, and they cannot have held any public office during the previous twelve months. Further, candidates cannot hold an official position with any political party, political action committee or organization or association that is organized for the purpose of influencing legislation or decisions of public agencies. Finally, the candidate must be a registered member of the Republican party in order to comply with state law with regard to vacancy appointments.
