Flag Football Tops 100,000 Participants

Flag football for kids is growing rapidly, with over 100,000 kids playing and local training opportunities featuring New York Giants Alumni.

Flag Football -- once considered the humble little brother of tackle football -- is sacking that reputation, with over 100,000 kids participating nationally and leagues thriving in local communities in or very near Bethel.

Contributing to Flag Football’s growth is the fact that elite athletes consider Flag Football their primary or favorite sport. This improves game quality and helps Flag Leagues sustain continuity, rivalries and growth.

“Flag football is a tremendous team sport and getting better,” says Tom Finks, President of Pro Sports Experience for Kids. “Kids can show off their passing, running and defending skills in a truly competitive format. The games are high scoring with lots of action and strategy. Most importantly, the game is low cost and a blast.”

With an increased commitment to the game and national championship opportunities, young players now train for Flag as their primary sport and on a year round basis.

For example, the New York Heroes Youth Football Camps feature professional, USA Football certified coaches with New York Giants Alumni Heroes like Rodney Hampton, Keith Elias and Stephen Baker. Camps provide non-contact instruction for kids ages 6-14 years old. Newcomers, flag and tackle players can receive great benefits from the instruction.
