Fordham Real Estate Institute’s Hugh F. Kelly Featured on Counselors of Real Estate Panel

Author of "24-Hour Cities" shared his findings on cities that never sleep at UConn Stamford event on March 2nd

Stamford, CT (March 17, 2017) – Hugh F. Kelly, Special Advisor to the Real Estate Institute at Fordham University’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies, participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Connecticut Chapter of The Counselors of Real Estate titled “24 Hour Cities” on Thursday, March 2.

Kelly, author of the book “24-Hour Cities: Performance Beyond Promises”, was joined by John Glascock, Director of the UConn Real Estate Center, on the panel which focused on Kelly’s research on the cities that never sleep. Thomas Curtin, CRE, Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors, served as the panel’s moderator.

“There has been a long-standing theory since the 1990s that 24-hour cities provide investors with superior risk-adjusted returns compared to 9-to-5 cities, but there was never any formal research done to test the hypothesis,” Kelly said. “I was part of a team that examined the theory and found that it held merit. Based off those findings, I wrote ‘24-Hour Cities’ to showcase the recipe for success of how these cities developed from crime-ridden and financially broke to the iconic cities they are today.”
