Former Rep Duff Makes 26th District Senate Bid
William Duff, a Republican, is the former state representative for the 2nd District.

BETHEL, CT — Former State Representative William Duff has announced his candidacy for State Senate in the 26th District representing Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
Duff, a Republican, is vying for the seat currently held by freshman Democrat Senator Will Haskell. Duff was defeated last November in his bid for a second term as a state representative for the 2nd District by Democrat Raghib Allie-Brennan.
Wilton resident Kim Healy announced her bid for the Republican nomination for the 26th district state Senate seat last week.

"It was an honor and a privilege to have served in the State Legislature, and now look forward to serving the people of the 26th district as its next state senator," Duff said in a release. "I have fought against wasteful spending and tax increases my entire adult life. Spent the first two years as a state representative fighting potential tax increases, like the mileage tax and the cell phone tax and toll proposals put forward by the Democrat party, while advocating for tax relief. I ran on eliminating the state tax on pensions and Social Security for our retirees, and we got that passed. We need a State Senator that understands the out of control spending has to stop NOW. Businesses are leaving Connecticut because they can no longer afford to operate. The Democratic policy of taxing our way to prosperity has been proven to be a huge failure. I will fight to stop the wasteful spending and restore fiscal responsibility."
In Bethel, where he has been a life-long resident, Duff served several elected positions, including on the Board of Selectman, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, and as town constable.
