Former State Rep. Carter Will Debate Opponent
Freshman State Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan has consented to the proposed debate.
Press release from former State Rep. Dan Carter: Republican and former State Representative Dan Carter’s calls for a debate with his opponent, freshman State Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan, have been answered with an email from Allie-Brennan to Carter’s campaign expressing his willingness to engage in a debate.
“I appreciate Rep Allie-Brennan accepting my request to schedule a debate,” Carter said. “This election is about serious issues that are facing the people of the 2nd District and the citizens of Connecticut: issues such as affordability, growing our economy, local control of zoning and schools, and police accountability.”
Carter explained that Secretary of State has announced that absentee ballot applications will be mailed out to all registered voters in mid-September and those who apply for ballots will begin receiving their ballots Oct 2nd.

“Given the fact that this is a unique election cycle, the people of the 2nd District should hear where we stand on the issues and compare our records before they vote by absentee ballot or in person,” Carter remarked.
“In true bipartisan form, my campaign is willing to work with Rep. Allie Brennan, the local town committees, or other local organizations who step up to host a debate. I think the voters deserve to see us discuss issues face to face.” said Carter.
