Ideas Welcome for Franc Property Open Space

The Franc Property Commission will hold a public hearing Thursday night to receive public input concerning use of the open space land. All Bethel residents are invited to attend the meeting and share their ideas.

The hearing will be held at the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, Meeting Room D (near the Planning and Zoning office), starting at 7 p.m.

First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker appointed the commission after the town purchased the 72-acre parcel in 2012 with the intent that it be preserved as open space. The commission was charged with the task of recommending the most appropriate uses of the property for passive recreation.
