Irish Artist displays photography at “IRISH FLARE EXPO”.

Opening Reception on March 11 Benefits Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick's Day Celebration

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 2, 2020) – Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, City Lights Gallery, 265 Golden Hill Street, presents “Irish Flare EXPO,” featuring stunning photographs taken on the Emerald isle by Irish artist Marion Lynott. The exhibition takes place March 11-14, with an opening reception scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the gallery.

“I grew up just outside Crossmolina in County Mayo and go home nearly every year, so most of my exhibition pieces feature animals, nature and scenes from The West of Ireland” said Lynott. “I’m very excited to be invited by City Lights to showcase my work at their beautiful gallery” she continued. “And also to work with John Brannelly Chairman of the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Committee, who is the brainchild behind this event.”

Lynott is an avid photographer with a passion for landscapes who loves spending time outdoors capturing quiet moments of animals and nature. This exhibition includes some earlier works from her “Memories of Home” collection, as well as a few new Irish nature photos.

Accompanying artist Phil Keane of Newtown, will also be displaying some of his art at the exhibition. Keane the creative force behind Blue Sky Farm Productions, a video and photography studio based in Connecticut. Keane cut his teeth on Madison Avenue in New York City making TV commercials and print advertising. His work is more graphic in nature, relying on using natural or artificial light to shape and define his subjects. Ironically his father comes from the same beautiful town in County Mayo as Marion. His mom is from Clare. “All Irish blood in these veins!” said Keane.

The reception, which features arts and crafts from Peggy’s Cottage and Ogham Art, is a benefit for the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade Celebration. A $5 suggested donation includes music, wine and light refreshments, and 10 percent of proceeds of art sales will go to support the parade.
