Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Champions
Pavia 48 Knights of Columbus Crown Free Throw Champions
Nine boys and girls from Bethel, ages 9 to 14, were named local champions of the 2015 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship and have earned the right to compete at the district level. Pavia Council 48 in Bethel sponsored the local competition at St. Mary School. All youngsters 9 to 14 were eligible to participate.
Nine-year-old champions were Kerry Tuccinardi in the girls’ bracket and Ronan Kuroski in the boys’. Ashley Nicoletti was the 10-year-old girls’ champion and Brian Legnard was the winner in the 10-year-old boys’ division. In the 11-year-olds’ bracket, Oleg Iazzetta was the boys’ champion. Twelve –year-old winners in the girls’ and boys’ division were Madeline Suarez and Gerard Kane. The 13-year-old boys’ champion was Jake Drury and Peter Kent won the 14-year-old boys’ division. Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attempts in the contests.
Each of these winners will compete in the district competition to be held on Saturday, February 21 at St. Joseph School in Danbury.
