"At present the state's health care system is still able to accommodate the influx of new COVID patients who require hospital care, but a surge of new cases is expected in the next two to three weeks," First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker posted on the Town website. "State officials are working with the US Army to increase hospital capacity by setting up mobile field hospitals in multiple locations around the state.
"It is more important than ever that everyone follows the preventative measures to keep yourself and your family from being exposed to the virus. The goal is to slow down the spread of new infections to flatten the curve to keep new cases from overwhelming the state's hospital capacity," Knickerbocker said.
