Man Arrested in Bethel Convenience Store Robbery: Police

After a two-day investigation, police have made an arrest in the case.

BETHEL, CT — A Brookfield man has been arrested in connection with a strong arm robbery at a Bethel convenience store Wednesday, police announced via Facebook Friday.

Maxwell N. Mulligan, 32, was arrested after he was identified by police through police footage. He was found by Wilton police Friday afternoon, according to the announcement.

Police say that Mulligan was seen on surveillance footage paying for items at the Wheels Convenience Store located on Stony Hill Road. When the clerk opened the cash register, police say Mulligan jumped across the counter and pushed the clerk.

Mulligan fled on foot following the robbery. Police say the investigation is still active.

He was charged with robbery in the third degree and larceny in the fifth degree. He was held on $20,000 bond and is due to appear in Danbury Superior Court Monday.
