New Bethel Restaurant Brings Flavors of Central and Latin America
Copas Restaurant and Bar is now open in the Dunkin' Donuts plaza, 25 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel.

Foodies seeking a wider variety of restaurants in town will be happy to know that Bethel welcomed another new eatery this week in the Dunkin’ Donuts plaza on Grassy Plain Street.
Copas Restaurant and Bar is now open at 25 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel.
Owners Sandra Parra- Flores and her husband and chef Carlos Flores held their soft opening this week. Parra-Flores told Patch they they also own La Piccolina, a Northern Italian restaurant located in New Milford and are excited to be opening Copas Restaurant and Bar in Bethel.
“I’m Colombian and my husband is from Central America so we serve food from Argentina, Mexico and Colombia presented in a more upscale, elegant way,” Parra-Flores said.
Diners can expect Latin continental flavors “from all over South America, the Caribbean and Central America. We have small plates appetizers, we don’t call them tapas, we have ceviches, meats, seafood, salads and soups.”
The couple is from Danbury and has relied mainly on word of mouth so far to get the word out about their new venture. There is no word yet on whether the restaurant will offer entertainment, but Parra-Flora said they cater to customers all ages.
“We are family-friendly and have high chairs. We love children. La Piccolina is named after our daughter, which means ”little girl” in Italian and Copas means “elegant glasses” in Spanish. So we’e focusing our new restaurant around the bar. We’ve never had a bar before,” she said.

Their hours will be Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. They will be closed on Mondays. Dinner starts at 4 p.m.
