Karl married Diane E. Brosz on April 11, 1970, and was a faithful husband for 52 years. Their daughter Lynne E. Seyfang operated Lynne’s Luncheonette at the Danbury Superior Court House for many years. Her employment was instrumental for the State of Connecticut as it confirmed legally blind people could participate and interact with the general public.

Karl's retirement years were spent mostly in Bethel. His love of Bethel often inspired memories of the community when he was young. Often, he spoke of Doughboy Square, the old railroad station, and the Sycamore restaurant with its Friday night cruise-ins. In addition, he was a Stony Hill Fire Department volunteer for many years until his health interfered with his service.

He loved watching New York Yankee baseball where he and his wife faithfully followed their schedule both home and away.

The family will receive friends at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury, on Saturday, July 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a formal service at 3 p.m.
