Obituary: Peter W. Joyce, 73, of Bethel
Peter enjoyed good food, beer, football (Patriots), baseball (Red Sox), boating, fishing, clamming, fun stories and fixing anything.

BETHEL, CT — Peter W. Joyce passed away in Danbury at age 73, on August 26, 2018. He was born in Danbury to the late Charles and Jeannette (Heim) Joyce. Peter lived all his life in Bethel.
He was educated in local schools and later became a member of the National Guard for four years. Peter married the love of his life, Patricia Marketti in 1967. Pat predeceased him in death in 2015.
Pete was a very caring, loving, and honest person who would do anything for anyone at any time. He was a sales manager for Sears for a number of years before becoming an automobile service manager for several years in Bethel. He also became the owner of Park Line Striping Co., which he held as a second job for many years, and marked countless parking lots for towns and businesses. Pete was a popular uncle who was cherished by all his many nieces and nephews. He had a fabulous sense of humor and was always known for his funny practical jokes. One nephew summed it up by stating, "Peter was one of the most iconic people I've ever known. His fun and often mischievous behavior always taught me an alternative perspective on life."

Peter enjoyed good food, beer, football (Patriots), baseball (Red Sox), boating, fishing, clamming, fun stories and fixing anything that needed it, especially if it had to do with motor vehicles, but most of all spending time with Pat and family on Cape Cod at their second home in Harwich. He and Pat loved all creatures great and small, unconditionally. They harbored many pets over the years, most of them rescues.Affectionately named the "Raindrops", Peter-Patter, (Pitter-Patter) are now lovingly joined together in Heaven.
Besides his wife, Peter was predeceased by his brothers, Charles (Tip) Joyce and Scott Joyce. Peter is survived by his siblings, Susan (Joyce) Trump, J. Kevin Joyce, and Robyn (Joyce) Perry.

Special thanks to special friends, Kerry, Tommy, Richie, & Greg, who spent much time with Pete near the end, giving him love and support, and Robyn and husband Mike, who were with him until his passing.

There will be a private family celebration of his life on Cape Cod at a future date.
