He coached and supported the Bethel Baseball Association. He played baseball for the American Legion and golfed with many friends through the Danbury Dusty Golf League.
Attending Yankee games was a favorite family pastime, as well as going to the movies. Tom was a history buff and enjoyed taking family vacations to historical landmarks. He was a big kid himself, but a constant mentor and confidant to all his children and really to anyone he considered a friend. His brother-in-law said it best, "The thing that made Tom different was his honesty, kindness, and understanding, but most of all his heart."
