UPDATE: Over 2,000 Bethel Residents Lose Power

A representative with Eversource said tree branch trimming may be the reason why customers lost power.

Update 6 p.m.:

Approximately 114 Eversource customers remain without power at 6 p.m. Wednesday night. Residents in the Old Hawleyville Road area said a transformer blew up and is the reason for the outage.

A restoration time of 6:30 p.m. was given for the remaining customers still without power.

A representative with Eversource said tree branch trimming may be the reason why customers lost power. Crews were seen in the Stony Hill section of Bethel Wednesday afternoon on Weed Road.

Eversource estimates a restoration time of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
