Two Fatal Overdoses in Bethel, Man Charged: U.S. Attorney
Police are currently investigating the situation.

BETHEL, CT - A Bethel man was arrested Thursday in connection with a recent overdose death, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.
Paul Mignani's, 51, charges stem from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.
Mignani is charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine. The charge carries a maximum term of 20 years imprisonment.

According to the criminal complaint, Bethel Police responded to a residence on July 31 on report of a possible heroin overdose and found an unresponsive 54-year-old woman. The victim was quickly pronounced deceased.
It is alleged that Mignani distributed heroin that was consumed by the victim shortly before her death.

Additionally, members of the Bethel Police and medical personnel responded to a report of an unresponsive woman, 25, at Mignani’s residence on December 11. It is alleged that the suspect distributed the controlled substances that were consumed by this victim shortly before her death.
Officers conducted a court-authorized search of Mignani’s residence on December 12 and seized approximately three ounces of cocaine. The suspect was arrested on related state charges on that date.
Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Tactical Diversion Squad, and the Bethel Police Department are currently investigating the sisutation, with assistance from the States Attorney’s Office for the Judicial District of Danbury.
The DEA Task Force includes participants from the New Haven, Hamden, Greenwich, Shelton, Bristol, Vernon, Wilton, Milford, Monroe, Fairfield and Manchester Police Departments, and the Connecticut State Police.
