Proposed Bethel $88.7M Budget Goes Before Voters Tuesday
Bethel residents will be casting their votes Tuesday on the town's proposed 2023-24 $88.7 million budget.
BETHEL, CT — Residents will be casting their votes Tuesday on Bethel's proposed 2023-24 $88.7 million budget.
About $53.1 million of the spending plan is for the schools, a 3.9 percent increase over the current education budget. The town portion of $35.6 million, which includes $29.7 million for operating expenses, $5.4 million in debt service and $463,880 for school building maintenance, would be a 3.87 percent jump. Combined, the proposed budget represents a 3.89 percent increase over the current spending plan.
Voters may cast their budget referendum ballots from 6 a.m to 8 p.m. Tuesday at their appropriate polling places:
