Bethel Public Has Its Say On Wood Recycling Facility Tuesday

A plan calls for an 8,000-square-foot facility to be built at 104 Wooster Street to sort and receive recycling materials.

BETHEL, CT — Residents will have their say about the proposed wood recycling facility downtown on Tuesday evening.

All Regional Recyclers of Wood has proposed constructing a nearly 8,000-square-foot facility on its 104 Wooster Street property to sort and receive recycling materials. At the first meeting, some residents expressed concern over the impact the building would have on downtown, among other issues.

The Planning & Zoning Commission was forced to reschedule a Jan. 14 public hearing due to an exceptionally large turnout of residents. The new time and date for the meeting is 7 p.m. on Feb. 11, in the Town's general purpose room.
