Reminder: Liz Teed 5K Honors Memory of Beloved Johnson School Teacher

After a beloved Johnson School teacher passed away last year, the community is honoring her life of service by hosting a 5K.

Almost a year to the day that a beloved Johnson School teacher passed away, her school and the community is honoring her life of service by hosting a 5K road race in her honor.

Bethel Parks and Recreation announced plans to collaborate with Johnson School’s Scholarship Committee to host a Elizabeth Teed Memorial Scholarship 5K Road Race on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015.

Elizabeth Teed was a 4th grade teacher at Johnson School who passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2014.

The Bethel Education Association (BEA) announced the establishment of the Elizabeth Teed Memorial Scholarship last February. Mrs. Teed Liz Teed supported the English Language Learners (ELL) population so the scholarship will be given in her name to a Bethe High School senior who received ELL services at any point during their educational career in the Bethel Public Schools.

The race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Johnson School.
