Republicans Endorse Deuschle​ for First Selectman

He is expected to run against the Democratic incumbent Matt Knickerbocker

BETHEL, CT — The Republican Town Committee has unanimously endorsed 23-year Bethel resident Steve Deuschle for first selectman.

Deuschle has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission since 2009. He is president of the Board of Directors, Bethel Community Food Pantry, and member of the Board of Directors, Brotherhood in Action. Other volunteer work includes the SCOTTY Fund and the Appalachia Service Project.

At the Bethel United Methodist Church where he is a parishioner, Deuschle has volunteered as a youth group leader, mission trip leader, staff parish relations chair, Church Council member, monthly pasta dinner cook, confirmation class mentor and Sunday School teacher.

Professionally, Deuschle is a master engineering technician currently working in research and development for the related companies of Prestone, First Brands, Clorox Corporation, Honeywell, and Reynolds Packaging.
