Rudy Sporbeck, 80, Formerly of Bethel, Passed Away

Sporbeck, Rudy, 80 of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Bethel, Ct passed away on July 21st. He was born in New York City on Aug. 16, 1934 to Rudolf A. and Margarete Sporbeck. He lived in Stamford, CT; he married Ursula and moved to Bethel, CT in1966. In 1999 they retired and moved to Hudson, Fla.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. He was a volunteer firefighter in Belltown; Stamford CT, He worked for Teleregister which became Bunker Ramo-Olivetti Co. until his retirement. He was a member of the Arion Singing Society, the Edelweiss Schuplattlers, and was also a member of The Spring Hill, Fla. German Club. In his younger years he played soccer and softball. He was an avid sports fan, and loved to play pinochle.

He is survived by his loving wife Ursula, children Melissa McKay, Kristina St Jean, and her husband Jeff, Steven Sporbeck and his wife Beverly and six grandchildren Hillary and Shane McKay, Erik and Kevin St Jean and Jeremy and Timothy Sporbeck. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Margaret Corbo and his granddaughter Hannah McKay.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Hospice or a charity of your choice.

Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home on Sunday August 9, 2015 from 2: 00 to 5:00 pm where a memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm. A Graveside Service will be held Monday August 10, 2015 11:00 am at St Peter Cemetery in Danbury with full military honors.
