BETHEL, CT — The Board of Selectmen have appointed Cathy Schaefer to fill a vacancy on the school board left by longtime member Robin Renner, <a href="https://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Vacancy-on-Bethel-school-board-filled-13100832.php" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">The News Times has reported</a>. The selectmen voted unanimously Monday to appoint Schaefer, a Democrat, to the Board of Education. Renner, also a Democrat, was elected in November for her sixth term on the board, but has announced she is leaving town.
