WASHINGTON— Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement regarding last night’s fatal collision between a Metro-North commuter train and an SUV on the Harlem line.
“My deepest condolences go out to all those who have been impacted by last night’s tragic collision. There are still many important questions that are left to be answered, but I’m confident that the National Transportation Safety Board will conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation as quickly as possible. In the meantime, I’d like to thank all of the first responders who so bravely rushed to the scene, and reassure Metro-North passengers that their safety is our number one priority as we take actions to ensure this never happens again.”
