Dear Bethel,

Some of our local waste haulers seem to be getting on the road earlier to beat the traffic and it has generated a few complaints this week. Bethel’s noise ordinance allows for waste haulers to pick up garbage and refuse after 6 am in residential areas and 5:30 am in commercial/industrial zones Mondays through Saturdays. If you have issues with a hauler picking up in your neighborhood before these times, reach out to info@hrra.org or contact us at firstselectman@bethel-ct.gov.

Library Elevator update: the repair is scheduled for October 19th and should take one day and then the State needs to inspect before the elevator can be back in service. We are hoping it is up and running by October 23. Stay tuned!

We mentioned a few weeks ago that a nationally recognized company that provides safety consulting worldwide will help our fire departments assess their operations in comparison to industry standards and best practices, and also aid them in preparing for the future. The team is in town this weekend! Our departments are proving they are living up to the rigorous national standards!
