(BETHEL, CT) - Starry Sky Studios, an independently-run art and music school, will open on March 2, 2015, in the loft at Molten Java Coffee House, 213 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, CT.

“Art — and the experiencing of making it -- can be one of the strongest threads connecting members of a community,” said Nancy Metcalf. “We look forward to sharing a space for education, creativity and meaningful time with our neighbors.”

Starry Sky Studios will offer private music lessons in stand up bass, electric bass, acoustic guitar, banjo, voice, drums, keyboard, as well as woodwind lessons by the amazing Jason Fitch, tenor sax player for Mad Satta. (http://www.madsatta.com/)

Visual art offerings will include “Java and Paint” nights with a master artist, various craft workshops, collage, and art lessons for children age 6 and older, and adults too. Starry Sky Studios will have an exciting children’s workshop that combines art and music entitled “Once Upon a Song.” Their instructors are all talented working artists and craftsmen in the industry.

The studio will also offer “Mommy and Me Yoga” and “Adult Yoga” morning classes with instructor Faith Ficarra.

“We couldn’t imagine a more perfect location for Starry Sky Studios,” Metcalf said. “Not only has Molten Java been a creative meeting ground in Bethel for years, but together our businesses make sense. Parents will be able to drop off their children for their one-hour workshop, for instance, then relax downstairs with free Wi-Fi and sip delicious Molten Java coffee. The classes run seven days and seven nights a week.”

Co-founders Nancy Metcalf and Sandra Johnston are seasoned artists who have the passion and vision to create this unique opportunity for children and adults to unleash their curious and creative minds!
