BETHEL, CT — State police arrested a Waterbury man on drug charges after pulling him over for a minor motor vehicle infraction.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Interstate 84 traveling westbound by Exit 8 for not having a front marker plate. Upon investigation, the vehicle smelled of marijuana, the police report said.

Officers searched the vehicle with the aid of K9 Favor, a Connecticut State Police dog trained in narcotics detection. Favor alerted the human cops to the trunk of the vehicle, where a child's lunch container contained two bags of marijuana, a digital scale and two boxes of plastic bags.
