"I want to thank Matt Knickerbocker for his 23 years of service to the people of Bethel. A talented First Selectman, a good friend, and a trusted mentor, Matt has truly distinguished himself over the past 13 years as one of the best town leaders in Connecticut.

Prior to his election as First Selectman, Matt was a member of the Board of Education from 1999 to 2009, serving seven years as chairman. Bethel was in the most capable hands from the moment that Matt Knickerbocker became First Selectman. Throughout his years of service, Matt has been an extremely effective leader, helping to revamp the town’s finances, construct one of the state’s first municipal solar farms, and renovate the Bethel public water system.
