Stony Hill Fire Company in Bethel Releases 2017 Stats

The company took 997 calls for non-fire-related emergency medical services alone.

BETHEL, CT — The Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company has issued their annual call statistics for 2018.

In total, Stony Hill emergency and fire personnel responded to 1,323 calls for service last year.

Calls included EMS medicals at assisted living facilities, falls, traumas, overdoses, car extrications, building fires, severe storms, gas leaks, fire alarms and carbon monoxide reports.

The company responded to 997 calls for emergency medical services:

  • No transport (canceled en route, standby, transfer, no patient, and/or patient refusal): 234
  • Transported basic life support: 394
  • Transported advanced life support (paramedic): 369

Another 326 calls were fire- and rescue-related calls:

  • Building fire including mutual aid: 8
  • Fire, other (dumpster, car, furnace, etc.) : 24
  • Automatic alarms: 88
  • Good intent/service call/smoke scare/electrical: 38

  • Assist EMS/public service, storms: 40
  • Gas leak: 16
  • Cover assignment/canceled en route: 78
