'Stop the Codfish Cell Tower' Meeting Planned for Tuesday
The Connecticut Citing Council is hosting a public hearing on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Municipal Center.

Some Bethel residents have created a Facebook page, website and petition to prevent a cell phone tower from going up in their neighborhood. “Stop the Codfish Cell Tower” Facebook page has 718 likes and comments on both sides of the debate.
“We the families of Codfish Hill, Bethel CT stand against Claudia Stone and AT&T who wish to erect a cell tower in our beloved residential neighborhood,” the group writes on their page.
The Connecticut Citing Council is hosting a public hearing on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School Street, to listen to comments from residents. Concerns include property values decreasing and health risks, among others.

According to the News Times, “North Atlantic Towers, also known as Florida Tower Partners, is seeking to build a tower on a 49-acre private property at 62-64 Codfish Hill Road.”

“Come and show the state of CT they can’t support health risking, property value lowering, view diminishing cell towers in our children’s back yards! Who will you fight for? When they ask each one of us whether you favor cell towers in family neighborhoods? What will you say? The answer is NO.”
