Town Of Bethel Offers Seasonal Food Truck Permits

All applications must be received by March 2nd.

From the Town of Bethel: The Bethel Parks and Recreation Department will offer limited seasonal (May-October) food truck permits in the town of Bethel, CT exclusively at Meckauer Park of 16 Shelter Rock Road, starting in 2018. Permits are valid for one season.

The permit allows mobile food vendors to securely park vend food and serve the community of Bethel at Meckauer Park during regular park hours of 8:00AM EST to 8:00PM EST. The monthly fee will be $200 per truck, payable on the 15th of the previous month. This fee does not include the cost of a food license.

The requirements and application are available in the Parks and Recreation Department and on the town’s website here. All applications must be received by March 2nd. Mobile food truck vendors will be notified by April 2nd.

Requirements:

  • Registered Bethel Food Truck.
  • All food truck vendors will be required to meet all state and local health department requirements.
  • They must have a current food vending license and driver’s license.
  • The mobile food truck must be an actual vehicle.
  • Must be equipped with waste receptacles for use by its customers and shall discard of any garbage attributed from the truck’s services off-site.
  • Adhere to Meckauer Park hours of operation and respect the park code of conduct, and park in the designated parking space. Each vendor will have no more than two parking spots to conduct their business.
  • The use of loud speakers for projecting either voice or music is prohibited.
  • Trade Name Certificate and a million dollar Insurance is required.
