Bethel Residents Approve Town and School Budgets

Both the Bethel town and school budgets passed, following the public referendum held Tuesday.

BETHEL, CT — Both the town and school budgets passed, following the public referendum held Tuesday.

Residents approved the $81.9 million town budget for 2021-22 with a vote of 59 to 41 percent. The schools' $49 million portion of that passed by 58 to 42 percent, the remaining $32.9 is allocated for town operations.

The budget represents a 2.62 percent increase over the current spending plan.

Voter turnout was only 11.7 percent, according to the DTC.
