VIDEO: BHS Star Track Athlete Alexandra Hernandez Signs Letter of Intent with Marist College

On Wednesday, April 30, 2014, a quiet celebration took place in Bethel High School as Alexandra Hernandez signed the Letter of Intent with Marist College, which is located in Poughkeepsie, NY, along the beautiful Hudson River.

She was surrounded by her family beaming with pride, Alex Hernandez (Dad), Toni Hernandez (Mom), Jacob Hernandez (Brother), Coach Yvonne Grimes, and Athletic Director Frank Tatto. Right after Alexandra signed the paper she turned around to look at her mother and gave her a huge smile.

Hernandez holds quite a record at BHS.  She has participated in Soccer for 4 years and was the Captain last Fall. She played Basketball for 3 years, and participated in Indoor Track as a Senior, 1 year, and Outdoor Track for 4 years.

Hernandez is the Current School Record Holder in Outdoor Track 4x100 relay, 4 x 400 relay, and Indoor Track, 4 x 200 relay.

This talented athlete is also a high achiever: Member of the National Honor Society, SWC Champion, Outdoor Track in 2013, 300 Hurdles; All SWC First Team, Outdoor Track in 2013; and CT Junior Olympic Champion 2013, 400 Hurdles.

Hernandez plans on majoring in Political Science and will participate in Track.
