Report and Photography by Paula Antolini
(Saturday, July 19, 2014) Bethel Police and railroad workers were present at numerous railroad crossings today in Bethel, along the Danbury Railroad Line, from this morning into the afternoon.
Officer Christos, of the Bethel Police Department, said Metro-North was testing the equipment today so police are needed to monitor the situation and direct traffic.
More police were seen monitoring Danbury railroad crossings too, on railroad crossings near Route 53 and Great Pasture Road, and also near Triangle Street and Wildman Street.
View video here of the train passing through the Greenwood Avenue railroad crossing near Depot Place, as railroad gates and signals appeared to operate properly.
