Where's Waldo? Hiding Somewhere in Bethel!

Where’s Waldo? He’s hiding somewhere in Bethel. The famous children’s book character, dressed in the red and white striped shirt and black-rimmed specs, will be visiting twenty-five local businesses in Bethel this July, Byrd’s Books announced today.

Super sleuths who spot the black-rimmed spec wearing character can win prizes such as buttons, book coupons and more. Waldo figures will be well hidden in local business establishments i downtown Bethel as well as the Stony Hill area.

Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Bethel” passport beginning in July. The passport includes all the participating retailers. For each Waldo the participant finds, they will get their passport stamped. Twenty or more collected stamps earns the participant an entry into the grand prize drawing on July 31, including a top prize of a 6-volume deluxe set of Waldo books.

Where’s Waldo’s publisher, Candlewick Press, is teaming up with the American Booksellers Association and 250 independent bookstores all across the country, including Byrd’s Books in Bethel, to encourage communities to shop local. The hunt lasts for the entire month of July.
